Motivo supervisors play a vital role in shaping the next generation of skilled, ethical, and compassionate mental health providers. The guidance you offer helps supervisees move forward on their path to licensure with confidence and care.
At Motivo, our goal is to make supervision a supportive, inclusive, and transparent process. To that end, all supervisors agree to uphold the following standards:
Commitment to equity and inclusion
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all.
- Have zero tolerance for discrimination or bias based on race, culture, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
- Approach every supervision relationship with cultural humility and empathy.
Ethical and professional practice
- Follow the ethical codes of your professional association(s) and the state licensing board(s) that govern your practice.
- Stay familiar with Motivo’s Supervisor Code of Conduct, Supervisor Terms and Conditions, and platform policies.
- Seek clarification from the Motivo team whenever guidance or support is needed.
Clinical and administrative responsibilities
- Complete supervision documentation accurately and promptly, including supervision notes and licensure-related forms.
- Conduct supervision exclusively for Motivo supervisees, on the Motivo platform, unless a documented exception has been approved.
- Offer supervision only at Motivo’s established rates and never request additional compensation.
Supervisory relationship and availability
- Respond to supervisee inquiries promptly and maintain open communication.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and fully present for each supervision session.
- Reschedule or cancel sessions only when necessary, with advance notice whenever possible.
- When taking leave, ensure appropriate coverage to avoid disruption in required supervision hours.
